I agree completely! We could very well use a good SQL based relational DB
engine. It would be great if this could be integrated into the OS. The OS
itself could also benefit from such an engine. Make it network compatible
(client-server or distributed) and it would be even better.

At least we could use some kind of standardized API for these database
engines (XPR-like perhaps, so the actual implementation can be varied
according to the user's system configuration and preferences).
